Tarakan Hospital Launches Intermediate Reference Laboratory

Laboratory facility in Tarakan Hospital (RSUD), Cideng, Gambir, Central Jakarta, has passed the trial and assessment from Health Ministry (Kemenkes) as Intermediate Reference Laboratory (IRL) for other hospitals in Central Jakarta.

"In accordance with World Tuberculosis Day on March 24, I announce that Tarakan Hospital is appointed as IRL," stated Widyastuti, Jakarta Health Department Head, Monday (3/25).

Tarakan Hospital President Director, Dian Ekowati explained, IRL is built to control tuberculosis (TB) disease. Especially for TB patients who are in treatment and need to check their sputum in reference laboratory. Related to this, she expects hospitals in Central Jakarta which want to conduct laboratory examination for their TB patients should cross check to Tarakan Hospital then her side will give routine feedback.

"This year, Tarakan Hosp ital has passed the regional health laboratory test in order to meet the requirements as IRL," she mentioned.
